Fire Apparatus of Philadelphia Vol I $14.95
Scott Schimpf
Privately printed 1983
(From the introduction) This collection of pictures is not intended to uncover new, never before seen pictures of Philadelphia fire apparatus, but rather to put together in one place, pictures of some of the workhorses of the fire department. Those pieces of equipment, more often than not taken for granted, would always be there to do their job. I have also added a few different items which may be new to some who follow Philadelphia. Although ranging from 1731 to 1978, the emphasis of this book is on the apparatus from 1920 to 1950. This will hopefully rekindle memories of the "older" buffs and members, and at the same time introduce newer buffs to the apparatus before diesels, crew cabs, large diameter hose, and yes, even radios!
36 pages, 9x12 softbound, creases on covers

Fire Apparatus of Philadelphia Vol II $14.95
Scott Schimpf
Privately printed 1984
(From the introduction) This collection of pictures, volume two, is intended to be a supplement to the first book. The emphasis of this collection is on modern apparatus of the Philadelphia fire department and then goes back in time to show more of the apparatus of the earlier periods. Through the fifties, sixties and seventies, Philadelphia was into (commercial) chassis. However, in the late 1970s and early eighties, such names as American LaFrance and Seagrave came back into the firehouse.
44 pages 9x12 softbound, light marking on covers.
